Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman has been released by Blackburn Rovers just two days after his Wembley clanger cost Cardiff City the FA Cup. The Finn, who has been on loan at Championship side Cardiff, has been told by boss Mark Hughes that his Blackburn contract will not be renewed. Enckelman's error gifted Portsmouth striker Kanu the only goal in Saturday's FA Cup final. But he has been offered a permanent deal by Cardiff manager Dave Jones. The 31-year-old has been the Bluebirds's first-choice goalkeeper since joining on loan in January. Jones is also hoping to sign Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a season-long loan deal next term. Enckelman had been Brad Friedel's understudy at Blackburn but was restricted to just three games in four years at Ewood Park. Veteran defender Stephane Henchoz and Swiss international Bruno Berner have also been released by Blackburn.
